You know those mornings where everything is wrong and you’re running late and in a murderous mood and it’s rainy and you forgot your umbrella and raced to get coffee before the train and then spill all that coffee everywhere and people give you looks because you’re grumbling to yourself and they think you’re crazy and maybe you are and wow you are so late?
I have three full weeks off at the end of the year (creative use of vacation time + no one at work really cares) and it’s just what the doctor ordered. I need to detox, I need to work out more regularly, and I need to realign. My first few days off involve juicing and a spa day.
… There might be a detour to Savannah for New Year’s Eve.
But other than that I am going to use the time to jump start getting hot. My best friend is getting married in March. It’s go time.
Inspired by Jewpid, here’s a massive list of things you should buy if you love yourself:
I have oily/combo skin that can take a lot of abuse so keep that in mind.
I use a gentler wash in the morning, nothing too cray.
Kate Somerville Total Vitamin Antioxidant Face Serum - Super expensive. It’s also the best serum I’ve ever tried. Sinks right in, doesn’t leave an icky sticky feeling. They say you’re supposed to get your topical vitamins and antioxidants in the morning. If you have any cheaper alternatives I’m all ears.
These are my favorite wipes, gets all the guck off. Remember that this does not replace a thorough face wash for your pores.
I go for deeper cleaning at night.
This is very weird (a powder from a Korean skincare line that foams and suds when water is added), lots of $$$, but it lasts forever. It dumps out one pre-measured pump at a time so you use the exact right amount of product.
I looooooooove this stuff. It’s a physical scrub but it is not harsh (supremely fine beads) and works works works.
Just buy it. Forget about the price tag. Thank me later.
You need a prescription for Retin A so see your dermatologist immediately. I’d give up most things in my skincare regimen but not this.
Clarisonic Mia - If you have the funds, this is worth adding to your routine. I only ever use it in the shower but it’s good stuff.
I don’t break out often, but this zaps the little suckers right quick. Mario Badescu is overall a fantastic and surprisingly affordable skincare brand.
My skin isn’t very dry but if it needs some tender loving care in the winter months, this is where it’s at.
It is 8:30 am on a Sunday of a long weekend. I am awake. There is no reason for this. No alarm had been set and I went to bed rather late. And yet. Here we are.
I should go to the gym. I ate like a hellbeast yesterday. Today is a hair washing day. All signs point to a work out. This is what boyhangover and plunderingdesire would do on a Sunday morning. I stare at their selfies in an attempt to manufacture some motivation. Health! Fitness! Look hot! Be hot!
I think I will get a Starbucks frappuccino. Apparently if you get a creme based drink with toffee nut and caramel syrup, it tastes like butterbeer.
